Juliet Goswell, originally from Montclair, New Jersey, grew up a competitive gymnast and began dancing at the age of thirteen. As her passion for gymnastics dwindled, Juliet found a love for dance. She began partaking in summer intensives and became a company member at DanceWorks Studios. Juliet went on to graduate from James Madison University in 2017 with a BA double major in Dance and Advocacy. Juliet completed the PLUNGE intensive at the Peridance Capezio Center in 2018. She currently teaches dance in low-income housing in urban New Jersey and is a guest choreographer at DanceWorks Studios. In addition to dancing with Freespace Dance, Juliet is a company member with Urban Tribe in NYC.

Emily Patricia Ingersoll, a native of Mahwah, New Jersey, grew up dancing competitively and received various awards for doing so. After graduating high school, she began teaching and choreographing for young students and has won numerous awards for her choreography. She graduated magna cum laude from Montclair State University in 2018 with a BFA in Dance. She was awarded the Linda Roberts Outstanding Senior Award by the Department of Theater and Dance at Montclair State for exemplary academic and artistic excellence. During her time at Montclair State, she performed in works by Martha Graham, Larry Keigwin, Shapiro and Smith, Christian von Howard, Nancy Lushington, Jessica DiMauro, Fredrick Earl Mosley, and many more. She has performed in venues such as the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Madison Square Garden, Manhattan Movement and Art Center, City Center Studios, Graham Studios NYC, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. She also took part in the American College Dance Association conferences in both 2017 and 2018 and was selected to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in June 2018. While there she received the Dance Magazine Award for Outstanding Performance. Emily joined Freespace Dance in September 2018.

Andrew Kruep is thrilled to be celebrating his seventh season with Freespace Dance! Recently a featured dancer in the final season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (NBC/UNIVERSAL). Other recent credits include New York City Center Encores!: Grand Hotel, the Musical and Big River. National tours include Elf the Musical (the Kennedy Center, Madison Square Garden), Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Madison Square Garden), and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Other performance credits: The Joyce SoHo, North Shore Music Theatre, STAGES St. Louis, Fulton Theatre, and Northern Stage. A huge thanks to Donna and Lisa for this wonderful opportunity to grow with the company, and for their invaluable friendship throughout the years. Thank you also to Lees Hummel, for being the most inspiring dance educator I’ve ever encountered. Thank you, and support local arts!


Victoria Mergola.JPG

Victoria Mergola was born and raised in New Jersey. She received her BFA in Dance from Montclair State University in 2018. This upcoming season will be her third year with the company. With Freespace Dance, she has had opportunities to dance at Jazz at Lincoln Center, City Center Studios, and Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center and has performed at countless schools in NJ. She is also a part of the Dance to Learn program, through which she teaches dance to students in public schools across the state. Victoria also teaches and choreographs for students from ages five to eighteen at a competitive level. She is so thrilled to be a part of Freespace Dance.


Alfonse Napolitano.jpeg

Alfonse Napolitano, a native of Parsippany, New Jersey, began dancing at the age of six. He is currently in his last semester as an undergraduate at Montclair State University majoring in Dance Performance and Dance Education (K-12). He has performed in works by Joshua Manculich, Shapiro and Smith, Camille A. Brown, Alwin Nikolais, Fredrick Earl Mosley, Sara Hook, and many more. He has performed in venues such as Madison Square Garden, 92nd Street Y, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Joyce Theater, and the studios at New York City Center. He was awarded the Frances Chalif Award for Excellence in Dance on the local level, and most recently he was named Outstanding Senior by the Montclair State Dance Department. Napolitano has used his love of dance to assist in teaching children with Autism in the form of dance therapy. He is an experienced teacher and choreographer of all age groups and abilities. He has taught at multiple studios throughout NJ and NY. Napolitano has also won multiple awards for his choreography and performance at many competitions on regional, national, and world levels. He has learned various pieces of repertory from the O’Donnell Dance Company during his studies in their certification program. He received his O’Donnell Technique teaching certificate in July 2019. Napolitano is currently a dancer for Freespace Dance under the direction of Donna Scro Samori.


Lindsey Garnhart is a dance artist with a BFA in dance and a minor in business from Temple University. Prior to college, she studied ballet, modern, jazz, and tap for 15 years. She has been with Freespace for a year, and also performs with several contemporary choreographers in NYC. Her recent choreographic work has been presented at Arts on Site and The Secret Theater. Lindsey is delighted to dance with Freespace Dance Company tonight, and sends a big thank you to Donna, Lisa, and the Freespace fam!


Melina Soriano is a creative artist and holistic healthcare advocate who recently received her BFA from Montclair State University with a minor in psychology. Prior to Montclair, Melina studied under Raegan Wood, director of the Taylor School, while performing with Paul Taylor’s Teen Ensemble and attended High Tech High School under the guidance of Trista DeFilippis. Melina has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Paul Taylor, David Parsons, Fredrick Earl Mosley, Tiffany Rea-Fisher, Yusha-Marie Sorzano, and Larry Keigwin. Her first choreographed film work Cerulean Dream was released in the summer of 2021. She is an affiliate teaching artist with Nimbus Arts Center's Community Programs, Miss. Shona's Performing Art Center, and Freespace Dance. When Melina is not dancing or teaching you can find her with her head in a book, as she is a full-time nursing student!


Emma Gentile is a Montclair/NYC dancer who graduated from Temple University in 2022 with a BFA in dance. She has been immersed in the dance world since birth but officially started her training at age 12 at DanceWorks Studios in Montclair, NJ. Emma is trained in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, African Diasporic techniques, and improvisation. In addition to her technical training, she is passionate about choreographing and film dance. Throughout her dance career, Emma has had many amazing opportunities to perform locally and even globally in dance festivals throughout New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Europe. Emma has been a company member and teaching artist for Freespace Dance since June 2022.
